DESCRIPTION:On Tuesdays from January 6 – March 31\, 2026\, the Paul Smith’s College Visitor Interpretive Center invites homeschool families of all ages and abilities for group ski games and skiing and snowshoeing on our trails at a discounted rate. \nHomeschool Tuesdays Trail Pass Rate\nKids: free\nAdults\, ages 18 and up: half price\, $10 \nHomeschool Tuesdays Rental Rate\nKids: free\nAdults\, ages 18 and up: $20 for skis\, $10 for snowshoes \nSeason Pass info if you decide that the excellent VIC skiing is something you want to do more frequently than just Tuesdays! https://www.paulsmithsvic.org/ny-state-ski-waiver/ \n\nAbout the Program\nThe homeschool program will take place on Tuesdays from January 6 – March 31\, 2026\, from 10am-2pm. Most Tuesdays\, we will have informal group games for all abilities on skis in the field behind the building from about 11:00 or 11:30am until we break for lunch. In previous years\, we had special days where we did music jams and horsedrawn sleigh rides. Stay tuned to this blog (and the NCH facebook group) for updates in case of inclement weather. \nFamilies are welcome to come earlier and stay later. SUMMARY:Music over the Marsh - Marjorie Kelting
DESCRIPTION:Marjorie Kelting is a talented singer/songwriter based in Northern New York. Her musical journey began in the early 2000s when she immersed herself in playing and writing bluegrass music. In 2005\, she made her mark with the release of her album “Adirondack Rail\,” featuring captivating original songs like the title track “Adirondack Rail\,” “Back Home Where You Belong\,” “Darling This Is Goodbye\,” “1923\,” “Lead Me Lord\,” and “The Water’s Edge.” \nDuring her time in Long Island\, Marjorie co-founded the bluegrass band\, Miller’s Crossing\, in 2004. The band remained active until 2016\, leaving a legacy of vibrant performances. Later\, in 2018\, Marjorie made the move from Long Island to Malone\, N.Y.\, where she currently imparts knowledge as a teacher in the local school district. \nContinuing to fuel her passion for music\, Marjorie embraced a solo career in 2023\, gracing various venues across Northern New York with her original bluegrass and contemporary folk/Americana compositions. Her upcoming plans include the release of a new EP or LP\, promising an exciting continuation of her musical journey.

DESCRIPTION:On Tuesdays from January 6 – March 31\, 2026\, the Paul Smith’s College Visitor Interpretive Center invites homeschool families of all ages and abilities for group ski games and skiing and snowshoeing on our trails at a discounted rate. \nHomeschool Tuesdays Trail Pass Rate\nKids: free\nAdults\, ages 18 and up: half price\, $10 \nHomeschool Tuesdays Rental Rate\nKids: free\nAdults\, ages 18 and up: $20 for skis\, $10 for snowshoes \nSeason Pass info if you decide that the excellent VIC skiing is something you want to do more frequently than just Tuesdays! https://www.paulsmithsvic.org/ny-state-ski-waiver/ \n\nAbout the Program\nThe homeschool program will take place on Tuesdays from January 6 – March 31\, 2026\, from 10am-2pm. Most Tuesdays\, we will have informal group games for all abilities on skis in the field behind the building from about 11:00 or 11:30am until we break for lunch. In previous years\, we had special days where we did music jams and horsedrawn sleigh rides. Stay tuned to this blog (and the NCH facebook group) for updates in case of inclement weather. \nFamilies are welcome to come earlier and stay later. The VIC building is open from 9:00am-5:00pm\, and indoor bathrooms are available to the public. Families are free to ski or snowshoe the trails at their own pace and use the building throughout the day.
