Mosses in the Boreal Forest have an outsize influence on its ecology. This field class will introduce participants to the morphology and ecology of the most prominent moss species along the VIC Boreal Life Trail. What we see and learn can serve as a foundation for future bryophyte investigations or just enhance one’s appreciation of the biology in full view at the VIC. Bring a hand lens of 10x power (the VIC has a few if you need to borrow one). Instructor: Ray Curran. Register early, class size limited to 8.
