Celebrate National Poetry Month on Earth Day
April 22 @ 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Free
For Earth Day 2023 poets Michael Czarnecki and Yvona Fast will present a program of poetry and stories centered on the natural world. Their reading will be followed by an open mic for others to share their own poem or story.
Michael Czarnecki is a poet, oral memoirist and small press publisher. In 1995 Michael gave up other work to devote his time and life to poetry. Since then he has made his living solely through the creative word. In the last 28 years he has given hundreds of featured readings throughout the country. His Poems Across America Tour in 2013, a 14-week journey, featured a reading in each of the 48 contiguous states. Prior to covid, Michael was a poet-in-residence at ESF’s Huntington Wildlife Forest two times.
When not out on the poetic road Michael lives on his 50 acre homestead in the northwest portion of the Susquehanna Watershed in Steuben County, NY. More information about Michael can be found at https://foothillspublishing.org/michael-czarnecki/
Yvona Fast’s poetry has appeared in many disparate literary journals and anthologies, several chapbooks and her latest book, Loon Summer. A resident of the Adirondacks since 1984, Yvona loves God’s glorious creation of lakes and mountains, trees and forests, sun, rain and snow.
Yvona can be found outdoors in all seasons when not writing or cooking. More information about Yvona can be found at http://www.yvonafast.com/poetry.html
