Camping with Loons
July 8 @ 6:00 PM - July 9 @ 10:00 AM$150 – $500
If you know the lean-to at Little Black Pond on the VIC property, you know what a special spot it is. Join VIC Director, Scott van Laer, and naturalist, Milt Adams, for an overnight trip that includes discussions on loon biology, behavior and status in the Adirondacks, two campfire meals prepared by these seasoned woodsmen (supper and breakfast), and fantastic star gazing (if the weather cooperates). Tents, sleeping bags and ground pads supplied by the VIC, along with all dishware, drinking water, etc.
What to wear/bring: This program starts with a canoe paddle out to the lean-to–you may want to bring water shoes as well as walking shoes with good support. Pack a water bottle, clothing to layer, a hat, bug netting and bug spray if you choose, a change of socks and whatever else you need to be comfortable for the evening.
Please note that preregistration is required by noon on Wednesday, the 6th of July and we need to meet a minimum number of registrants to run this program. $150 for individual and $500 for a family of 4.
